HOW LONG IS THE DESIGN PROCESS?

Good design takes time. Great design takes even more time. Designing your home takes a tremendous amount of intentionality, and as creatives, we take great care in ensuring we don’t miss any details. We are deeply honored that you would trust us with something that is as sacred as the power of home. We ask for your patience with us to ensure we deliver a product that you love and we can be proud of. A project can take anywhere between 3-6 months, or even more, depending on the scope of work.

WHAT IS GOING INTO MY INVESTMENT?

We take stewarding your investment very seriously and we believe in sourcing quality products that will last. While we do all we can to look for ways to save, there are many factors that go into your investment:

  • Value for the time and effort to curate and implement your design

  • Quality craftsmanship

  • Durable products

  • Freight and Receiving (When applicable)

HOW MUCH SHOULD I BE BUDGETING FOR MY PROJECT?

The budget can vary depending on the type of space we are renovating. The investment for a bedroom design won’t be the same as a kitchen design. Taking into account the costs for materials, hiring trades, shipping, freight and inflation, we suggest planning for a minimum spend of $15,000 per room (not including design fees).

WHERE DO YOU ORDER FURNITURE AND ACCESSORIES?

We leverage our relationships with our trusted manufacturers and vendors, who supply “to the trade only,” giving us access to a wide array of furniture, accessories and unique materials that are built to last. “To the trade only” vendors only sell their products to the design trade and not directly to consumers.

HOW DO YOU WORK WITH TRADES PEOPLE?

Clients are responsible for hiring and vetting the trades people needed for your project (general contractors, sub-contractors, architects, builders, etc.). You’ll want to ensure they are properly credentialed and insured to do the work. It will be your responsibility to sign the contract with the trades people you choose to hire. We will be happy to meet with the trades people you select to review the design plans, drawings, materials and specifications. It will be their responsibility to verify all dimensions and measurements prior to work commencing.

If you don’t have contractors or don’t have the time to research, we can recommend a few contractors we may or may not have worked with. It will still be your responsibility to properly vet and hire them. You will still be responsible for signing contracts. We will not be interviewing them on your behalf but will be happy to review the design concepts with them.

One of the most important things you want to consider is the quality of craftsmanship from the contractors you select. No matter how great a design can be, the execution of the design hinges on who is hired to do the work. if you do not hire a qualified contractor, the design will not be realized in the way you hope. An inexpensive price may seem enticing, but as the saying goes, “You get what you pay for.”
